Commedia dell'Arte from the Italian American Theater Company of Chicago
Carbondale Communtiy Arts and the Herrin Civic Center present an evening of fun and laughs for the entire family with 'Spinetta's Spaghetti al Pantalone.' This original presentation by the Italian-American Theater of Chicago (IATC) weaves contemporary and traditional elements of comic theatre and pantomime to create a tapestry that is representative of Italian culture and true to the origins of 'Commedia dell'Arte.'
The evening features veteran professional artists Linoel Bottari, Douglas Grew and Jean Parisi. As founding members of the IATC, the trio has presented their unique 'commedia' here and abroad since 1987, including performances in Venice and Florence.
This presentation is part of CCA's Southern Illinois Cultural Tapesetry Project, a two-month celebration of the diverse cultural heritage that permeates our region.
